How to Help

Would you like us to keep you updated on any developments, breaking news etc? If so, please send an email to sw@naturealert.org and just say in the SUBJECT box "News Please". We promise to keep your email address confidential.

Our most urgent need is for caring people to send emails, letters and postcards to the various people mentioned on the different pages of this web site.

These communications really do help to let the people concerned know you feel about the way orangutans are being treated. In each instance we have suggested the questions you might like to ask in your e-mails. It really is very important to both the campaign and the future of the orangutans in question, that your letters are always polite.

Would you be willing to send our pre-addressed postcards that already have a message on them and only require you to sign and mail them?

To order cards from us please send an email to sw@naturealert.org and include your name and address and the number of postcards you would like: there are two sets of postcards, each with four different address destinations.

These cards were very effective in helping persuade Thailand, in April 2006, to agree the return of 53 illegally obtained orangutans to Indonesia.

Country Specific Action

For each country where we have produced a report of the problem we have also provided e-mail addresses of specific individuals and organisations you can contact to help support our cause.

Action Against Supermarkets

In the Palm Oil section you will find details of the palm oil products we use, the demand for which is at the source of this problem. We have listed contact details for leading supermarkets, your e-mail or letter will help in our campaign to raise awareness of this issue at home.

Zoos

If you visit a zoo and are unhappy about the enclosures orangutans are kept in, we would welcome your photographs (by e-mail please) and brief details of the zoo.

As can be seen from this web site, some zoos like to dress up orangutans for entertainment purposes. If you have photos and details of any such places, do please send them to us.
